Most often, "apostille" is understood as a simplified legalization of documents for their subsequent use in other member states of the Convention.

The procedure for affixing an apostille stamp (sometimes this procedure is also called apostille) is used in cases where the country for which the document is intended for sending (country of destination) is a party to the Hague Convention of October 5, 1961, which abolishes the requirement of consular legalization and introduces a simplified legalization procedure - apostille. If the country to which you are preparing the document is not a party to the convention, consular legalization will be required.

It is possible to put the stamp “apostille” on:
 
- notarized documents (for a notarized copy, power of attorney, consent, order, etc.); 

- documents of legal entities (for a notarized copy of the charter, registration certificate, registration certificate, etc.);

- originals of educational documents (for a diploma, certificate, certificate, etc.); - originals of documents of the civil registry office (for birth certificates, marriage certificates, etc.).

The apostille is affixed at the request of any bearer of the document directly on a blank space of the document, or on its reverse side, or on a separate sheet of paper. In this case, the sheets of the document and the sheet with the apostille are fastened together by stitching with a thread of any color (or with a special thin cord, ribbon) and numbered.

The last sheet of documents at the binding point is sealed with a thick paper "star", on which the seal is affixed. The seal should be evenly spaced on the star and on the sheet. The number of stapled sheets is certified by the signature of the person affixing the apostille. The apostilled sheet must be attached to the document in the above way and in the event that the document has a hard cover (for example, a certificate of the registry office).

The document bearing the apostille can be used in any of the countries - participants of the Hague Convention.

The cost of the apostille service is 10,000 tenge per 1 document.

In order to apostille a document, you need the following:

- document translation;

- notarial certification;

- copy of the identity card.

Consular legalization rules


Consular legalization (hereinafter referred to as legalization) consists in checking the compliance of documents with the current legislation of the host state and is the establishment and certification of the authenticity of the signature of an official and the seal on such documents for the purpose of using them in another state. This procedure is governed by the Rules of Consular Legalization approved by Order of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 264 of November 21, 2000.

Abroad, the functions of legalization are performed by foreign institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
